Synthetic AR-AFFF Foam 3% x 6%

Alcohol Resistant Aqueous film forming fire foam concentrate           CHI-C-361P Technical Data Sheet

foam index page

                                                Description

The FIREHOUSE Quality firefighting foam is a Alcohol Resistant Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AR-AFFF) - These agents are available in 1x3%, 3x3% and 3x6% fire fighting foam concentrates.  AR-AFFF concentrates are specially formulated alcohol resistant aqueous film forming foams, which form a physical polymer membrane/barrier between the fuel surface and the foam blanket.

They are both biodegradable and environmentally friendly. AR-AFFF foam is designed to suppress both Class B hydrocarbon and polar solvent (alcohol type) fires, and to suppress the hazardous vapors emitted from these fires or spills. AR-AFFF fire fighting foam may also be used on Class A fires.

All  Firehouse Quality firefighting foam  AR-AFFF fire fighting foam products are intended for use at the proportioning rate of of the product description, i.e. 1x3% would be 1 part concentrate to 99 parts water on hydrocarbon fires (gasoline, kerosene, diesel, etc.) and 3 parts concentrate to 97 parts water on polar solvent/water miscible fuels (alcohol, ketones, methanol and MTBE products).

The FIREHOUSE Quality firefighting foam is most commonly used high-end concentrate for use on both hydrocarbon (at 3%) fire foam and polar solvent fuel fires (at 3% fire foam) The lowest cost 3/3 AR-AFFF fire foam designed specifically for municipal and industrial use.

Lowest cost concentrate for use on both hydrocarbon (at 3% fire foam) and polar solvent fuel fires (at 6% fire foam)

  • Benefits: The industry accepted standard
  • UL 162 Listed, "Foam Liquid Concentrates"

The  is  3%-6% AR-AFFF fire foam is a specially formulated, aqueous film forming free flowing viscous foam concentrate. It forms a vapor suppressing aqueous film on hydrocarbon type fuels or a polymeric membrane on polar solvent/water miscible type fuels. It is intended for use at a proportioning rate of 3% (3 parts AR-AFFF fire fighting foam concentrate to 97 parts water) on hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel etc.

The FIREHOUSE Quality firefighting foam is 3%-6% AR-AFFF fire foam is intended for use at a 6% proportioning rate (6 parts AR-AFFF fire foam concentrate to 94 parts water) on polar solvent/ water miscible fuels such as alcohols, ketones, esters, etc.

    FEATURES

  •  U. L. and U.L.C Listed, Foam Liquid Concentrates

                                    PROPORTIONING

The FIREHOUSE Quality firefighting foam is a  3%-6% AR-AFFF fire fighting foam is designed for use with the following types of proportioning Equipment:

  • Fixed or portable in-line eductors
  • In-line balanced pressure and pump pressure proportioning skid
  • Bladder tank balanced pressure proportioning systems
  • Around the pump proportioners
  • Handline, air-aspirating nozzles with fixed eductor pickup tube

                                    DISCHARGE DEVICES

The FIREHOUSE Quality firefighting foam is a 3%-6% AR-AFFF fire fighting foam is suitable for use with the following discharge devices.

  • Foam Chambers
  • Air-aspirating and non air-aspirating sprinkler heads or spray nozzles
  • Standard water fog nozzles for handlines and monitors
  • Air-aspirating foam nozzles
  • The FIREHOUSE Quality firefighting foam  makers for use with either Floating Roof storage foam tanks or Dike/Bund protection systems
  • High back pressure foam makers for subsurface base injection system (hydrocarbon type fuels only)

                                    APPLICATIONS

                           FOAMING PROPERTIES

Aspirating type discharge devices typically generate expansion ratios between 6-10 to 1 when 3%-6% AR-AFFF fire fighting foam is mixed with water at the correct ratio. Non-aspirating type devices will typically generate expansion ratios of between 2-4 to 1. Expansion ratios are dictated by the type of discharge device, flow rate and discharge pressure.
