Synthetic  High Expansion Fire Fighting Foam          #CHI-C2P Technical Data Sheet

foam index page

                                                  Description

CHI-C2/Vee High Expansion Fire Fighting foam Concentrates - These agents are synthetic based and are suitable for use with low, medium or high expansion foam generating equipment.   Normally used at a proportioning rate between 1 and 3%, they are used in contained areas such as mining operations, ship hold areas, etc. where volume fire control is required.

CHI-C2/Vee High Expansion Fire Fighting foam concentrates a high expansion generator can be used to fill the entire area with a large amount of very light, expanded foam bubbles, and depending upon the type of generator, ratios of up to 1,000 to 1 can be achieved.  Fires involving solid materials as well as flammable liquids can be controlled and extinguished. High expansion foam also has special advantages in dealing with spills of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG).

  • The Firehouse quality  premium "UL Listed" high expansion fire fighting foam  provides a superior fire suppression and vapor barrier against a broad range of volatile chemicals. This product can also be used with low expansion equipment for flammable Class A & B hydrocarbon fires.
  • Benefits: Low water use and runoff, and UL listed for use with Chemguard's high expansion foam generators.
  • UL 162 Listed, "Foam Liquid Concentrates"

The FIREHOUSE Quality  C2/Vee High Expansion fire fighting foam concentrate is a multi-purpose foam concentrate that forms an effective vapor barrier in hazardous material spills and fire fighting situations. It is also used for fire extinguishment. It is surfactant based, biodegradable, high water retentive and U.L. Listed.

C2/Vee fire fighting foam  concentrate forms an effective vapor barrier against a broad range of volatile chemicals, including all classes of waterimmiscible organic liquids and a wide range of acid and alkaline inorganic materials. C2/Vee fire foam concentrate can be used with high-expansion equipment to combat threedimensional fires where total flooding is the objective (such as paint booths, paper warehouses, airplane hangars and mines). When used with high-expansion equipment, C2/Vee fire fighting foam  concentrate produces a stable blanket of bubbles that can quickly build up to help suffocate flames. The long-lasting fire fighting foam also helps to prevent reignition.

                                               FEATURES

  • Independent laboratory tests show that C2/Vee fire fighting foam  Concentrate retains water longer than other foams.
  • It is the only foam currently available that is compatible against acid and alkaline materials.
  • U.L. test results show that C2/Vee fire fighting foam  Concentrate has fire control and extinguishment equivalent to, or better than, competitive materials for Class A and Class B fires.
  • The FIREHOUSE Quality fire fighting foam  has demonstrated fire control capability with contained flammable liquefied gases, including LNG, LPG, ethylene, butadiene and vinyl chloride monomer.

   FOAM PROPERTIES

When FIREHOUSE Quality firefighting foam C2/Vee fire foam is mixed with water in the correct proportion, expansion ratios of up to 1,000 to 1 can be achieved. This expansion ratio is dependent on the type of discharge device and pressure of the system when operating.

      TYPICAL PROPERTIES
