Normally used at a proportioning rate between 1 and 3 %, they are used in contained areas such as miningoperations, ship hold areas, etc. where volume fire control is required. A high expansion generator can be used to fill the entire area with a large amount of very light, expanded foam bubbles, and depending upon the type of generator, ratios of up to 1,000 to 1 can be achieved. Fires involving solid materials as well as flammable liquids can be controlled and extinguished.  The FIREHOUSE High Expansion fire fighting foam  Concentrates expansion foam also has special advantages in dealing with spills of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The FIREHOUSE High Expansion fire fighting foam concentrates standard grade high expansion foam provides superior fire suppression and vapor barrier against a broad range of materials. This product can also be used with low expansion equipment for fighting flammable Class A & B hydrocarbon fires. Benefits: Cost savings X-tra High expansion fire fighting foam concentrate is a synthetic based foaming agent suitable for use with either low, medium or high expansion foam generating equipment. When used with medium or high expansion foam generating equipment, it is generally proportioned at a 2% concentration (2 parts Xtra to 98 parts of water). When used through a high expansion or medium expansion generating discharge device the following extinguishing mechanism takes place: The large volume of foam engulfs the area being protected and prevents air from reaching the fire. The FIREHOUSE High Expansion fire fighting foam concentrates is generated with water, and comes in contact with the fire, a large amount of steam is generated which helps reduce the oxygen content in the atmosphere. The water content in the fire fighting foam   produces a valuable cooling effect on the fire. Fixed or portable in-line foam eductors In-Line balanced pressure and pump pressure proportioning skid Foam bladder tank balanced pressure foam proportioning system.      FOAM PROPERTIES     When FIREHOUSE Quality X-tra High fire fighting foam is mixed with water in the correct proportion, expansion ratios of up to 1,000 to 1 can be achieved.
