The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam,  BUG-EYE™ Platinum 3% AR-AFFF concentrate is a totally unique Earth Friendly and enhanced state-o-fthe-art foam concentrate, designed for use on Class B Hydrocarbon and polar solvent fuel spills or fires.

The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam BUG-EYE™ Platinum foam concentrate contains Micro- Blaze® microbes for total remediation of hydrocarbon and polar solvent fuels. The firefighting foam blanket not only has the ability to extinguish the fire, but will also digest the residual hydrocarbon and polar solvents, eventually converting them into harmless carbon dioxide and water. 

The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire foam for fire-fighting purposes, it functions by generating or forming an aqueous film on Class B Hydrocarbon type fuels or a polymeric membrane on polar solvent/water miscible type fuels. The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam BUG-EYE™ Platinum 3% AR-AFFF is intended for use at a proportioning rate of 3% (3 parts ARAFFF concentrate to 97 parts water) on Class B Hydrocarbon fuels such as gasoline, kerosene and diesel as well as on polar solvent/water miscible fuels such as, isopropyl alcohol, ketone and ester.

• The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam is suitable for use with dry chemical extinguishing agents.

• The environmental friendly fire-fighting foam has excellent wetting characteristics when used in combating Class A combustibles.

• The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam is suitable for use with both air-aspirating foam and standard water fog nozzles.

• The environmental friendly fire-fighting foam is suitable for use with fiberglass, polyethylene or stainless steel.   

NOTE: The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam Buckeye BUG-EYE™ Platinum 3% ARAFFF is not compatible with galvanized pipe or fittings in an undiluted form.

                                    PROPORTIONING                                                  

The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam BUG-EYE™ Platinum 3% AR-AFFF is designed for use with the following types of proportioning equipment.

• Fixed or portable in-line eductors can be used with The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam.

• The FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam can be used with In-Line Balanced Pressure (I.L.B.P) Pump Pressure proportioning skid.

• Bladder tank Balanced Pressure proportioning systems are compatible with the FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam.

• Around-the-Pump proportioners are compatible with the FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam

• Hand-line, air-aspirating nozzles with fixed eductor pickup tube are compatible with the FIREHOUSE Quality environmental friendly fire-fighting foam.

                                    DISCHARGE DEVICES                                         

Environmental friendly fire-fighting foam BUG-EYE™ Platinum 3% AR-AFFF is suitable for use with the following discharge devices.

• Foam Chambers.

• Air-aspirating and non air-aspirating sprinklers or spray nozzles.

• Standard water fog nozzles for hand-lines and monitors.

• Air-aspirating foam nozzles.

• Foam makers for use with either Floating Roof storage tanks or Dike/Bund protection systems.

• High Back Pressure Foam Makers for subsurface base injection system (Class B Hydrocarbon type fuels only).

Aspirating type discharge devices typically generate expansion ratios between 6-10 to 1 when 3% AR-AFFF is mixed with water at the correct ratio. Non-aspirating type

devices will typically generate expansion ratios of between 2-4 to 1. Expansion ratios are dictated by the type of discharge device, flow rate and discharge pressure.

      ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT      

          The environmental friendly fire-fighting foam - BUG-EYE ™ Platinum 3% AR-AFFF is biodegradable, low in toxicity and can be treated in sewage treatment plants. In contains Micro-Blaze® microbes that will digest the residual hydrocarbon and polar solvent fuels and convert the waste into harmless carbon dioxide and water. Refer to manufactures technical bulletin regarding foam products and the environment.

     STORAGE      

Environmental friendly fire-fighting foam - BUG-EYE Platinum 3% AR-AFFF is kept in the original unopened and airtight manufactures supplied container and stored within the temperature range of 35?F - 120?F (2?C - 49?C), a shelf life of between 20-25 years can be expected. If the environmental friendly fire-fighting foam - BUG-EYE  Platinum 3% AR-AFFF is to be stored in an or stationary, it is important to limit the airspace above the surface of the concentrate.  A physical barrier may be necessary.  Consult manufactures Engineering Division for additional assistance.
